A Slice of Brooklyn Bus Tours was started by Tony Muia, a proud native Brooklynite who, for over 25 years, has been showing people around his beloved hometown.
After hearing complaints of not being able to find good pizza in Manhattan, Tony started A Slice of Brooklyn Pizza Tour highlighting the incredible pizzerias, landmarks, movie locations and points of interest that have made Brooklyn world-known.
Two years later, he started A Christmas Lights Tour of Brooklyn showcasing the famous Christmas decorations of the Dyker Heights section of Brooklyn, made famous in the PBS documentary "Dyker Lights".
Soon after, he launched his Brooklyn Neighborhood Tour highlighting the other foods, unique neighborhoods, landmarks and famous movie locations of Brooklyn including a stop at World Famous Junior's for cheesecake and an egg cream.
Here's what people have said about Tony:
"Tony made it a fun roadtrip and showed us all of the coolest spots in Brooklyn - spots you don't read about in your NYC books."
"I thought Tony was an excellent tour guide with great enthusiasm and knowledge of Brooklyn. You could tell he really cared that we, the customers, were enjoying ourselves, and he made it a point to make sure that everyone was having fun."
"Tony created an atmosphere like we were his friends in his house."
"Tony was so much fun to be with that we just didn't want the tour to end."
"Tony, the tour guide, has such a passion for his Brooklyn neighborhoods that one cannot help but come away with a sense of pride, respect and love for Brooklyn."
"Tony does a great job of interacting with the group and treats you like long lost buddies coming by the neighborhood for the first time. His enthusiasm for Brooklyn and its history makes the whole thing come alive."
"A great ambassador for Brooklyn! GO AND LET TONY SHOW YOU AROUND BROOKLYN!!!!"
"Imagine you call your buddy Joe from Brooklyn whom you haven't seen in a while. "Hey Joe, I will be in the area, do you wanna hang out?" Joe says: "Would love to see you, let me pick up up in the city and we'll head over to Brooklyn and I'll show you around my neighborhood. We'll grab some grub at a couple of places only the locals know about". This is basically what you're getting when you go on this tour with Tony. He knows Brooklyn like the palm of his hand, has a firm knowledge of Brooklyn's history, its places worth seeing and what the locals are up to. He will take you on a amazing tour through the area where he's from. Tony is witty, authentic (the tattoos will attest to that) and simply a nice, personable guy. His business he's most passionate about. So many movies have been filmed on the streets of Brooklyn. Tony will be sure to point them out while running the scene of the flick on the screens inside the bus. One more thing, you won't leave hungry! We'll be back to New York next year and will take one of the other tours Tony offers."
