Memories from 12 Years of A Slice of Brooklyn Bus Tours

Share this:

It’s been 12 years since we started our very first bus tour back on August 1, 2005.  Back then it was just the Pizza Tour and, at the time, we didn’t know that we’d be here 12 years later with four other great tours. But we’re sure glad we are!

From the very beginning, owner Tony Muia has had one goal in mind:

“I wanted to create an easy way for visitors to hop on a bus in Manhattan and experience Brooklyn from a native’s perspective. When I started doing tours twelve years ago, tourists didn’t consider Brooklyn a travel destination. Nor were tour guides bothering to go to Manhattan to pick people up by bus and bring them to Brooklyn. So I took it upon myself to introduce people to my hometown, to create a new way to see the borough and, in the process, become Brooklyn’s official ambassador.” – A Slice of Brooklyn Bus Tours owner, Tony Muia

So THANK YOU for letting us do what we love doing for 12 years!

Our goal is to continue showing you why Brooklyn is the best place in the world and why our motto is:

Manhattan?

FUHGETTABOUDIT!

A lot has happened to us since our first tour in 2005!

Our Pizza Tour launched in 2005 and was on The Today Show in 2007!

Then in 2006 we launched our Brooklyn Neighborhood Tour!

Then came our Christmas Lights Tour of Dyker Heights!

And last year we brought you our Brooklyn Chocolate Tour!

In 2012 Travel Channel did a show about us called “Slice of Brooklyn”!

One year Travelocity asked us do a photo shoot with their gnome!

Another year we were on Samantha Brown’s “Holidays in New York”!

And we won TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence again this year!

This is all thanks to THE BEST tour guides in all of  New York City!

What sets us apart from other tour companies is that our guides were born and raised in Brooklyn. So they have a pride, a passion and an authenticity that you can’t just train anyone to possess. Here are our awesome tour guides, Marc and Paula, with our equally awesome driver, Edwin.

We can’t begin to tell you how grateful we are to each and every one of you who have hopped on our bus, written about us, shared your experience with friends, posted flattering reviews on TripAdvisor and come back again to do another tour with us! Here’s to another 12 years of showing you around Brooklyn and, as always, hope to see you on the bus!

Three years ago I experienced the Slice of Brooklyn Pizza Tour with a friend, Andrew Shaw, who was doing it for the second time. In May this year I took another, Australian, friend on the tour and and she agreed that it was the best value, fun tour ever. No longer a 12 seater mini-van, this time we travelled in a 50 seater coach. It was entertaining, interesting and educational, thanks to our marvelous guide, Marc. I have recommended this tour to everyone planning a trip to New York. Next time I will sign up for the Chocolate Tour.
